DESCRIPTION

The city is in the process of constructing an all-new pedestrian bridge over the Umatilla River to replace the bridge that was damaged by the 2019 and 2020 floods. The project scope includes raising the bridge by approximately 5' and extending it by approximately 120' in length. Also, includes replacing the 18" waterline that was damaged.

Why it's needed-The pedestrian bridge was the main non-motorized connector for two regions of the city, the downtown and the South Hill region. It connects residents to schools, retail and transportation.
