Planning Commission

The Planning Commission ensures that the rules for how the land can be used, called the Land Use Code, are followed. They can advise the City Council and other essential groups about things like making streets bigger, putting in sidewalks, fixing traffic problems, making housing and buildings safe and clean, and setting rules for how tall and big buildings can be and what they can be used for.

The commission shall consist of the city administrator and the public works superintendent as ex officio members and seven (7) other members to be appointed by the mayor, with confirmation by the council, not more than two (2) of whom shall be nonresidents of the city residing within the urban growth area.

Please see Title 2, Chapter 1, Section 7 of the City Code for more information.
